Because the truth is, making a film is only half the battle. Getting it seen, sold, and properly delivered is where most filmmakers struggle.
Why Filmmakers United Exists
There’s a gap in filmmaking education.
Most resources focus heavily on writing, directing, and production—but barely touch on what happens after your film is finished. And when they do, the information is often vague, outdated, or overly complicated.
I created Filmmakers United because I ran into that exact problem myself.
Like most filmmakers, I spent years focused on making films—writing, shooting, editing—believing that finishing the project was the finish line. It’s not.
When it came time to actually deliver a film and navigate distribution, I realized how much I didn’t know—and how difficult it was to find clear, practical answers without paying a lot of money or already having industry connections.

The Mission
Filmmakers United was created by Mason Mac, a filmmaker, actor, and producer based in Hawai‘i. Like many filmmakers, Mason isn’t interested in chasing the traditional path of waiting for permission. His goal—and the goal of Filmmakers United—is to create, distribute, and build a sustainable career on his own terms. After going through the process of preparing films for distribution and seeing firsthand how confusing and fragmented the information was, he built the Deliverables Playbook and this platform to make that process clearer for others. This isn’t theory. It’s built from real experience, real research, and real-world application.
